The purpose of the session is to discuss a proposed Open311 API specification. Cities are beginning to open up their internal Service request systems. However each Government is defining their open API specification. Additionally there are multiple tool providers that have yet to expose a common interface. It is time to define a standard.

The goal of the session is to:

Discuss what an Open311 API would look like, using the proposed specification as a jumping off point.

It answers one of the guiding questions of ChangeCamp by:

Harnessing the drive of technologists to define a specification that governments may use to expose services to their citizens. Standarization allows the creation of an ecosystem of innovation and third party tools that a Government may leverage at no additional cost.
