Pardon the rough edges, but unfinished and imperfect are core values of our process!

Purpose and Participants:

The goal of this second organizers meeting after ChangeCampTO is intended to validate some core assumptions and goals discussed in our last meeting with some new key participants and partners who we think will have a lot to bring to the conversation and then to design a structure for the project in 2009 to achieve those goals.

The invited In-person Participants and what they're bringing:

Tonya Surman, for her wisdom, passion and experience on the subject of social change in the City and her ideas around the Constellation Model: http://www.socialinnovation.ca/blog/open-sourcing-social-change-inside-constellation-model

Michael Dila of Torch Partnership, for his ideas around the Unfinished Business kernel, driving force within the Strategic Innovation Lab at OCAD and host of the Unfinished Lecture series.

Gerry Kirk, Agile development coach, to act as our process coach for the ChangeCamp project overall and for advice on how we might apply and propagate Agile methodology across multiple ChangeLab teams now and in the future.

Ryan Taylor, chief instigator behind ChangeLab1 - Project #Shamen (now ChangeEngine), which is the first living breathing community-driven development project spawned by ChangeCampTO.

Patrick Keenan of http://thmvmnt.com/, which is "a global collective which enables self-directed individuals to thrive in their pursuits, allowing these individuals to spend more time fulfilling their core-competency. As a collective we focus on big problems for social good through collaboration in small teams, multiple, self-assembled teams, form, disband, and reform around meaningful betterment."

Lisa Torjman of SiG@MaRS is our gracious hostess for this session, ChangeCamp co-instigator, fan of the U-Process and our connection to the resources of the SiG national network

Meghan Warby is the un-lobbyist of our un-organization. She daylights from a comfy perch at Hill & Knowlton.

Sean Howard is a User Experience Designer who is passionate about enabling human potential and the power of "serious play".

Joseph Dee is chief web scientist and social technologist at MaRS with an unquenchable passion for betterment

Daniel Rose is a samurai facilitator with a deeply felt attraction for wicked problems.

Agenda & Structure:

2:30 - 3:00 Intros and Review of ChangeCamp Vision & Goals - Mark K
3:00 - 3:45 Constellation Model & Structure Design Exercise - Tonya Surman & Sean Howard
3:45 - 4:15 Planning Brainstorm Exercise - Gerry Kirk
4:15 - 4:30 Video Capture - "What happened here today?" - Mark K

Notes & Reflections - Mark Kuznicki:

This is a good and wide-ranging discussion. While we didn't get down to the level of activities planning I would have like, I think we did cover a lot of important material we need as input to understand what ChangeCamp is/can be and how the Constellation Model might provide a stable sustaining structure for its work. Tonya's overview of the model is an excellent starting point for thinking about the sustaining structure for ChangeCamp in the future. We are left with an important first question:

What is the "magnetic attractor" for the ChangeCamp movement?
