A Social Experiment in Crowd-SourcingFrom $1Table of contentsNo headersBackground: Hello, my name is Alex Daraseng and I am 24 years
old. I run a social enterprise/student group who's mission is to
inspire and engage Canadian youth to become global citizens who
creatively solve the problems of our future world. It's called Students
Against Global Apathy (SAGA). I like books, travel adventures,
wonderful people, and foods that start with the letter c. In one week I
have to give a presentation to at a conference that answers the
question below.... I could do it myself, but I thought with your help I
could do it better. Let's try this social experiment in crowdsourcing
and see if we can all learn some new tricks by the end of the day. LIFE IS A VERB!! GO!! Also avaiable here: http://tinyurl.com/yld6vb5
- I use facebook events to invite everyone i know to all my events - I use google calendar to juggle my life - I use google forms to do polls, and get summarized statistical data - I use doodle.com to do polls (especially for when scheduling meeting dates/times for a large group) - I use skpye to call people all over the world for free - simply, the first thing I do when i have a question is google it, then wikipedia it - I use virtual classrooms at www.Takingitglobal.org so I can talk to my e-mentors from arond the world about social change - I use animoto.com to make super-effective, super-awesome slideshows in under 5 minutes - I use creative commons licenced work, to find free images and art - I use getdropbox.com to sync, store, and share files online - I use google docs so meeting minutes are saved forever and searchable years later. - I use http://drop.io to for simple real-time sharing, collaboration, and presentation - I use WIZiq.com to learn and share in virtual classrooms - I use google docs so I can go to meetings in my pyjamas
