Notes:

They were successful because the issue came out  on Facebook, on a rumor from the media, before the campaign came out -- this is a reaction to something is happening, tapping into something that people want to see happen

Youth had their expectations as their first political campaign - "we will win every time"  -- and they did, in 2 weeks the legislation did not pass

Did everyone have their say? Not really only the 15-16 year olds that participated in the group.

Only the most passionate voices won out, it would be good for all participation to occur

What Happens Next?

If these are the expectations are raised so high, how do we change governance so that these expectation will not be changed -- we don't have a discussion culture -- and we need that desperately between citizens and government...

Participatory democracy that works -- democracy by jury -- a random jury decides what legislation works and gets passed -- people that are not self interested decide the options.. The government "ignored the recommendations" -- but not ignored this time.
